Where can I go then from your Spirit? *
where can I flee from your presence? Psalm 139:6
Our Psalm this Sunday reminds us that God is with us. There is no place where we can flee from God.
Sometimes that knowledge feels overwhelming. We are not always thrilled that God is everywhere and knows all about us. Sometimes we're not at our best.
At the same time, knowing that God is always with us and surrounding us and holding us is comforting. In my early childhood, my understanding of God was more of one who would be vengeful. As I grew, I understood the great love and forgiveness of God.
As I've continued to grow, I've experienced God as ever present in an insistent, open way rather than a loud, angry way. It's more of a gentle, persistent invitation to follow God's Will. I'm not always thrilled with where God is calling me and my experience has shown me that God knows me better than I know myself... that my life is infinitely better when I follow the path to which God calls me.
I pray you are comforted knowing God is always with you.
Many blessings as you continue your week.
Love, Rebecca+
