O God, from whom all good proceeds: Grant that by your inspiration we may think those things that are right, and by your merciful guiding may do them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Collect for Proper 5, Book of Common Prayer, p. 229
What a wonderful prayer! We acknowledge that all good proceeds from God. We affirm that God's inspiration allows us to think what is right. We pray that God will mercifully guide us to do what is right.
The prayer reminds us that we must test our thoughts, possibly holding them lightly. Is it right what we are thinking? We need to ask. Reaching out to others and sharing our thoughts can help. Measuring our thoughts against how they help us love God, love our neighbors and love ourselves can be helpful. And of course, praying for inspiration helps.
Once we are sure of right thoughts, then we ask for guidance in taking action. We think and then we do what is right.
Blessings!

P.S. This is my last Sunday with you until August 22. I am especially looking forward to going to Sea Isle City with my son and his family at the end of June. I have been thinking about some other travels to visit friends, but nothing planned just yet. I pray you have a great summer.
