This Sunday (September 4, 2022) at the Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

Grant us, O Lord, to trust in you with all our hearts; for, as you always resist the proud who confide in their own strength, so you never forsake those who make their boast of your mercy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. Collect for Proper 18, p. 233 Book of Common Prayer

This Sunday our readings all relate to trusting God...trusting Jesus Christ. We definitely need this prayer to trust God with all our hearts. As we will learn from our scripture and the words of Jesus Christ, trusting God with all our hearts can upset our relationships, even with those we love the most.

Trusting God is a spiritual discipline. It requires practice. We tend to want to trust our own strength first, rather than put our trust in God.

What will it take to strengthen your trust in God?

Love,

Rebecca+
