The Lord shall watch over your going out and your coming in, *
from this time forth for evermore. Psalm 121:8
When I lived in Kentucky, I had two positions that were 75 miles apart. I'd stay in Corbin, KY, which is in the eastern part of Kentucky near the Tennessee border for half of the week. That's where the church was. Then I'd go to St. Agnes House in Lexington for half of the week, where I was Executive Director of that "hotel" for people or their families who were in Lexington for medical treatment.
Linda and Paula lived nearly across the street from the church in Corbin. They were mother and daughter. They watched over me and over the church property. Paula also would walk around my car a number of times and pray over it each week before I left for Lexington.
Our Psalm this week reminds us that God is always with us and near us. God is always watching us and there in all of our challenges. To me, Linda and Paula were just following God's example of watching my going out and my coming in.
May you know the presence of God is always with you. Sometimes it comes in the form of others watching over you.
Love,
Rebecca+
