A note from the Rector... We’re entering the hazy, hot, humid last days of summer. Most children will return to school this month, signaling the return to our “typical” schedules. Summer , with its long days and sunshine, tends to get us up and out of our homes (except when the heat and humidity are too high.) We tend to be more active and there are baseball games, swimming, vacations, boating, trips to the beach and mountains. Each sea son of the year brings new routines and schedules. Just so, are the seasons of the church year. In summer and fall, we are in the season of Pentecost or Ordinary Time. We are in this season for half of our calendar year! The liturgical color of this sea son is green. This is fitting, because we live in post - resurrection times. We live in the routines of our everyday lives. Holding on to our faith, being centered and grounded, midst the changes and challenges of each 24 - hour day is what we are called to do. Enjoy August, with its glimpses of the coming fall. Mark the seasons. Observe how you are living during this ordinary time. Love, Rebecca+
