Changes
Each of our readings today describes a turning point, a major change in the thinking of faith.
In the first lesson, from Acts, Peter has challenged the Jewish law by eating with non-Jews. This change, that people from different cultures can both receive the blessings of God, was radical at the time.
The reading from Revelation reveals through symbol, a change that is to come – a new vision of the church... a new Jerusalem.
And in John, Jesus presents a new commandment to the disciples, another change.
