Christmas Eve Service and These Sundays (December 27, 2020 and January 3, 2021) at The Church of the Nativity and St Stephen

This Sunday

Michele Neibert, Parish Administrator December 22, 2020
Christmas Eve Service and These Sundays (December 27, 2020 and January 3, 2021) at The Church of the Nativity and St Stephen

Upper Temple, Camp Nawakwa, Arendtsville, PARecently a friend sent me photos of Upper Temple at Camp Nawakwa. I went to Camp Nawakwa in the summers from 6th grade through 11th grade. It is outside of Arendtsville, in the heart of orchard country. I haven't been there in years, but seeing those photos and the beautiful view from this outdoor worship space brought back so many memories. It is definitely a place where I was deeply shaped by faith. To me, it is a place of calm and grounding; a place where I feel God's presence. Just the photo reminds me that God is right with me and has been for all of my years.

Do you have such a place? Or is it a time of year? Maybe it's this time of year when the days are short and the nights are long. A time when the anticipation of the birth of a baby reminds us that the heart of life is love.

Merry Christmas!

Love, Rebecca+

The church office will be closed from Christmas through New Year's. Rebecca will preside at the service on December 27, a service of Christmas Lessons and Carols.

COVID Alert PA App
The Department of Health has launched  the COVID Alert PA, https://www.pa.gov/covid/covid-alert-pa/.  This is a free mobile app that uses Bluetooth technology to let a person know that they have been exposed to COVID-19 without compromising the identity or location of either the person using the app, or of the person to whom they may have been exposed. The mobile app helps the contact tracing process by identifying and notifying those people identified as close contacts through Bluetooth technology when a person with COVID-19 does not know or remember everyone with whom they may have come in contact while infectious.
