These Sundays (July 1, 8, 15, 2018) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen's

My soul waits for the Lord,
more than watchmen for the morning, *
more than watchmen for the morning. Psalm 130:5

This week I have been in Pittsburgh where a friend is having surgery. Most of you know how long those waits can be when a loved one is having surgery. The medical staff give estimates for how long the surgery should take; however, so many factors are involved, so sometimes the surgery takes longer. In this, we understand the longing of watchmen for the morning.

The Psalmist in our reading for this Sunday talks about that longing and waiting for the Lord. How we wait for the Lord to intervene in our lives. How we wait to hear a word from the Lord. We know that word brings calm, even in the midst of tremendous chaos. We know when we rest in the Lord, we have patience and receive guidance.

So we wait for and long for the Lord...to hear God's word and to be comforted.

Blessings as you finish your week.

Love, Rebecca+
