You will show me the path of life; *
in your presence there is fullness of joy,
and in your right hand are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11
I've been getting rid of lots of stuff lately. For many of us, the rummage sale encouraged us to go through our things. So many little things trigger memories of my life.
This morning I was looking at some jewelry, mostly necklaces and earrings. I haven't worn most of these things for years and yet... there was the necklace and earrings I bought one year when I visited my parents in Hiltonhead, where they spent a month that winter. There was the beaded necklace bought to commemorate a beaver research trip I took over 25 years ago.
These pieces of jewelry were reminding me of my path of life so far. I do feel like I've had an amazing life and while I'd sure like to be here on earth for some more years, I marvel at the path of life God has led me on.
Last Sunday as we worshipped, news had just begun about the Pulse nightclub killings. So many of those murdered were in their 20s and 30s. Many had struggled with the fact that their path of life, which I would say was shown to them by God, was one condemned by much of society, especially religious groups. In many ways, that Club was a church for them... a sacred space where they were free to be themselves.
Please pray for all those who died and all those who were injured and all those who were witnesses to this horrific tragedy. Please pray for all who follow their God-given path in life and face persecution in doing so.
Blessings as you finish your week!
Love, Rebecca+
