Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ's Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Collect for Second Sunday of Easter, p. 172-173 Book of Common Prayer
We continue our Easter observance this week. Our Collect talks about the new covenant of reconciliation. Reconciliation is a word we here a lot about recently, especially in regards to racial reconciliation. I keep hearing that to reconciliation assumes there was a relationship to begin with. Reconciliation is about repairing that relationship. In Christ, we are reconciled to God; our broken relationship with God is repaired, especially when we follow Jesus Christ.
Racial reconciliation means we repair the broken relationship that exists between we human beings. First of all, the concept of "separate" races has been debunked. The idea of race is totally human-created. The relationship we have with each other, based on race, is in need of repair, is in need of reconciliation. In reconciling with each other, we also reconcile with God. Let us do this necessary work.
Love, Rebecca+

Shaped by Faith Celebrating our Stories NEW DATES Wednesday, April 28, May 5, 12, 19 & 26, 6 -7pm
The stories of our faith are rooted in transformation. As we continue walking this season of seemingly unprecedented change, we want to create space to hear again the stories of how our faith communities have charted these waters. Originally scheduled for Saturday, May 22, we are shifting to five online workshops on Wednesday evenings in late April and May. Topics will include preserving oral history, creating parish history exhibits, writing your parish history, and creating and maintaining a parish archive. Workshop leaders will be announced soon; you may pick and choose which sessions are most relevant to you and your community.

Increase your biblical word power through readings, lectures, and class discussions. Students will also learn how to use online tools and resources to enrich their study of biblical words. The class will be fun, engaging, and useful for preaching, teaching, and personal discipleship. Faculty: The Rev. Dr. Collin Cornell
