This Sunday (April 19, 2020) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

This Sunday

Morning Prayer online or by phone

Michele Neibert, Parish Administrator April 15, 2020
This Sunday (April 19, 2020) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

My heart, therefore, is glad, and my spirit rejoices; my body also shall rest in hope. Psalm 16:9

Our Psalm this week speaks to us about the joys of our faith, especially how we can trust in God's presence.

A friend once told me that he had gotten very angry with God when a loved one had died in a car accident. A church-going man all of his life and deeply religious, he stopped going to church. It was almost like he was saying he was so angry, he wasn't going to believe any more. He described it as having lost his faith.

Then one day he realized that it was impossible to be angry at something that didn't exist. He understood that he did believe in God and was just angry and feeling differently about his faith than before.

Even being angry at God assumes a relationship with God.

During these unusual times, may our hearts be glad and our spirit rejoice. May our bodies rest in hope. May our faith and relationship with God help us.

Love, Rebecca+
