The Lord has done great things for us, *
and we are glad indeed. Psalm 126:4
Our Psalm this Sunday was one that was said as people journeyed to Jerusalem to worship. Followers of the Jewish faith were required to make this journey at least three times each year, coinciding with festivals in spring, summer and fall.
For some pilgrims, this was a four to five day journey on foot. You would need water and food. You would most likely sleep outdoors. You would need money to make the proper offerings in the Temple.
It was not an easy nor quick journey. Yet, the people making it were reminded that God had done great things for them.
Our day-to-day journeys can be tough. We may be grieving a loss of loved ones or the loss of the things we used to be able to do. We may be at a crossroads in our life and not sure which way to go. We may be facing financial difficulties or health issues.
Even with all of our challenges, finding something each day for which to be grateful, will lighten our burden. Remembering the great things God has done, makes us glad.
Today may you be glad indeed.

We welcome the Rev. Canon Robert Alan Schiesler as sabbatical pastor during Rev. Rebecca’s absence from April 18 - August 1.
Canon Bob holds graduate degrees in theology and ministry including the Ph.D. His ministry included serving as Dean of the cathedral in Iowa and as Rector of the pro-cathedral church in Michigan. Moving to Mechanicsburg in 2015, he became Rector of St. Luke’s Church where he served until 2019. In 2006, he was made a Canon of Honor in the Episcopal Church and in 2017, Queen Elizabeth II named him an officer of the Order of St. John.
Collections for Neighbor Helping Neighbor Food Bank
We will be collecting one specific item each month for the Food Bank. The item for the month of April is Canned Meats.
Annual Roadside Clean-up, Saturday, April 9, meet at Church of the Nativity, 9:30am.
Volunteers are needed to help clean up a portion of the road leading to Little Buffalo State Park.
Flowers for Easter, April 17.
Donations for Easter flowers will be taken through April 10. If you have an envelope, you can use for the donation, including marking if they are “in honor of” or “in memory of” someone. There are also envelopes at the back of the church.

The Episcopal Church in Central PA is forming a Diocesan Choir to help lead worship during Presiding Bishop Curry's visit on Saturday, June 11 at the Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg.

The group is currently working at home making winter hats for children, prayer shawls and prayer squares. They will meet on Thursday, April 28, 10am at Nativity Church, 159 S 2nd St., Newport, PA.
