The Lord God has given me
the tongue of a teacher,
that I may know how to sustain
the weary with a word. Isaiah 50:4
This Sunday we hear the words from Isaiah about the work of God in our lives. God has given us gifts and they help us during this time.
Many are weary and tired of the conditions under which we must live at this time. I know I'm missing time with my family members and can't wait until we can share a meal together. I am very grateful for the technology that allows us to keep in touch and it's just not the same as being together in person.
Even while isolated from each other in our home, there is much we can do to "sustain the weary with a word." I recently received a phone call from a seminary classmate. She was reaching out to people she hadn't spoken to in awhile. I really enjoyed catching up with her. I've heard this is happening all over, where people are calling on or connecting with each other.
May your love of God and joy in following Jesus Christ provide you with the wisdom to sustain the weary with a word.
Love,
Rebecca+
