This Sunday (August 2, 2020) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

The Lord upholds all those who fall; *
he lifts up those who are bowed down. Psalm 145:15

The Psalms are wonderful, ancient prayers. Wonderful, because they continue to speak to us.

During this time of pandemic and uprising, many people have lost their jobs or are facing job insecurity. They are not sure if they will be able to keep their housing. They are needing food for their families. Some are tired of unequal treatment and the discrimination that keeps them from their God-given potential.

Our Psalmist reminds us that God is with all of those who are bowed down right now; all of those who are bent over with the challenges and cares of the world. As those who love God, we, too, are with all of those who are bent over and who have fallen down. We, too, work to lift everyone up, whether it's right within our own parish or outside of the church doors.

How are you doing this week?

Love, Rebecca+

If you are interested in taking this course together as a group, probably through a Zoom platform or in a book discussion, please let Rebecca know.
