This Sunday we observe Episcopal Home Sunday. Canon Mary Grace Shearer, Executive Director of The Episcopal Home will join us. She will preach the sermon.
The Episcopal Home has been a ministry of our Diocese for over 90 years! The Home is a personal care home, providing rooms for people who need help with some of their daily activities. Meals are together in the beautiful dining room.
The residents of The Episcopal Home well know about downsizing their possessions. Sometimes it is difficult to downsize, yet at times, our possessions become a burden. A home requires maintenance, from the replacing of its plumbing or heating to the mowing the grass. My many knick-knacks get way too dusty. We hold on to our possessions and in our culture, especially, easily acquire more.
Our Gospel this Sunday reminds us there is much more to life that acquiring and maintaining our possessions.

Donations are sent to Join Hands, so people in our community have support for their needs.

During 2019, we will be celebrating baptism on November 3 and December 8.

Need help making decisions about caring for yourself or a loved one as you or they age? Family Group Decisionmaking is available to you!
You will be asked to gather a group of family and friends together to come up with a plan for how best to care for yourself or for a loved one. The sessions are free and conducted by Mary Grace Shearer, MSW, Executive Director of The Episcopal Home. Trail to Truth: Racial Reconciliation From Washington D.C. to Philadelphia, October 11-14, 2019.
This event is for six of our Diocesan youth who are going into grades 9-12 in 2019. Join the Province III Youth Committee for a pilgrimage by bus from Washington D.C. to Philadelphia, PA to discuss and dismantle the history of racism in the church and Government. Be a voice for positive next steps. Included in the four-day journey: African American History Museum, church histories, amazing guest speakers, leaders and youth from the thirteen dioceses that are Province III.
