This Sunday

Episcopal Home Sunday at St. Stephen; The Rev. John Sivley Presiding and preaching

secretary August 02, 2018
This Sunday (August 5, 2018) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3

In this section of Ephesians we read this week, Paul provides us with guidance about how to live our best life. He emphasizes that God calls us to a worthy life. God calls us to a meaningful life. Each and every one of us has a purpose that is important and necessary.

Paul then describes the attributes we need to have in living into our calling. We need to be humble and gentle. We need patience and the ability to walk with one another in love. Most importantly, we need to maintain unity with each and bond together in peace.

Each of us has an individual part we live, and a part we live in community. The community of Nativity and St. Stephen needs us in the gifts we bring from our calling by God and in the gifts we bring in living together.

Please know how important you are to our life together!

Blessings as you finish your week!

Love, Rebecca+
