Anyone who would like to contribute should send a check made out to the church with JH backpacks in the memo. Anyone who would like to contribute supplies can bring them to the church by August 8. Darlene will deliver them on August 9.  If someone wishes to contribute money for shoes, a check to Join Hands can be sent to the church and will be delivered on August 9.

This year’s auction will be hybridized to include the online auction and an in-person event on Sunday, August 29 at The Winery at Hunters Valley. Online bids will be accepted August 15 – 29. 
 

Anti-Racism Training Online, August 8 – September 17 via Zoom
The Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey Anti-Racism Ministry invites you to participate in 20 hours of virtual Anti-Racism Training streamed to your computer, tablet or mobile phone.  The training takes a historical approach to help participants understand systemic racism and empower them to confront and organize against racism, inequality, and injustice. Lecture and discussion topics include “What is Race?”, “Systemic Racism and White Privilege,” “Internalized Racism,” “The Role of the Church,” “Settler Colonialism,” “Racism in Immigration and Naturalization Legislation,” and “The Prison Industrial Complex.” The course takes place over four Friday evenings, with a follow up session on October 15th. For over 20 years, the life and martyrdom of Jonathan Myrick Daniels has been remembered through a pilgrimage to Hayneville, Alabama, co-sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama with the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast. Due to the ongoing pandemic precautions, the 2021 event will be a virtual celebration of Jonathan Daniels life and work combatting voter suppression, and the Episcopal Divinity School at Union Theological will join as a co-sponsor.
