This Sunday

Advent Lessons and Carols

Michelle Neibert, Parish Administrator December 03, 2020
This Sunday (December 6, 2020) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen
Isaiah 40:1

Comfort, O comfort my people,
   says your God. Isaiah 40:1

This Sunday we have a service of Advent Lessons and Carols. We will hear scripture and sing hymns of Advent. Our first reading is this familiar scripture from Isaiah.

During the writer's time, the people had gone through a very difficult time. The writer reminds people that God is merciful and their time of trial will end soon. The writer reminds them that God will comfort them.

We, too, are going through a challenging time, filled with many changes and uncertainty. A vaccine against Covid-19 is on the horizon and the cases are rising expotentially. Reports are that the number of cases will continue this steep rise, possibly through January and even into February.

We can take comfort that an end to the pandemic is coming, even as we take all of the precautions we can to keep safe.

Love, Rebecca+
