Flowers for Christmas
Donations for Christmas flowers will be taken through today. Mark if they are “in honor of” or “in memory of” someone. There are also envelopes at the back of the church.
Collections for Neighbor Helping Neighbor Food Bank
December items are: Sauerkraut, Canned Red Beets, Laundry Detergent and Fabric Softener Sheets.
Perry County DAR is once again participating in Wreaths Across America.
A $10 donation purchases a wreath to be placed on a veteran’s grave at Fort Indiantown Gap. This is a national program supported by many organizations, all placing the wreaths on 12/14/24. Checks should be made payable to Perry County Chapter DAR.
Basic Safe Church Training Online, Tuesday, December 10, 5:30 – 8:30pm.

Each month Incarnation UCC, 45 N. 4th Street, Newport, will host a musical guest. Concerts are Sundays and start at 2pm and last 60 – 90 minutes.

Items that seem to be taken first include canned pasta meals, soups, and macaroni and cheese. Vegetables don't seem to get taken. Also, please don't use this as an opportunity to clear out your pantry if at all possible.
Join others across the diocese for a virtual Book Club on a Quilted Life: Reflections of a Sharecropper’s Daughter by Dr. Catherine Meeks.
Catherine Meeks is a national leader of racial healing and an esteemed retired professor of African American studies. Join Meeks [in the book] as she describes the adventures and adversity she encountered on her path to becoming an empowered voice for change. These one-hour discussions will be January 22 (preface-chapter 5) and January 29 (chapter 6-12) at 7pm on Zoom, led by the Rev. Celal Kamran, Multicultural Missioner. This book study comes before Dr. Meeks' visit to the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania February 14-15, when she will join a series of events commemorating the Feast Day of Absalom Jones at St. Paul's, Harrisburg and St. Stephen's Cathedral, Harrisburg.
