This Sunday - Easter - at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

This Sunday

Online or phone service via Zoom

Rebecca Myers April 08, 2020
This Sunday - Easter - at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; *
his mercy endures for ever.

The Psalm we read this week is known as Confitemini Domino, which is translated as give thanks to the Lord. You may enjoy this Taize chant based on this Psalm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsWgvtQ5dgs

We often sing this in our Taize services.

We continue our physical distancing efforts this week. Our Holy Week and Easter journey is so very different. Giving thanks to God for God's goodness and mercy can seem so difficult for so many. We think of the health care professionals and everyone involved with running our healthcare system. We think of all of the people who continue to go to work and support us - garbage collectors, mail carriers, warehouse workers, grocery store clerks, food providers, just to name a few.

We think of all of those who have lost their jobs and the many who may lose their businesses. We think of those who were unemployed to begin with, some without any unemployment benefits and who won't get the "stimulus checks."

Even so, God is still with us. We try our best to care for our neighbors and to care for ourselves...to help each other through this time. We ask for God's mercy if we have failed in our efforts.

Love, Rebecca+
