Don't you just love a rainbow? I have always been fascinated with rainbows and do love seeing one in the sky. Yes, I know a lot of the science behind them. You need rain/water, which acts as a prism for the sunlight, which breaks into all of the colors of light -- Roy G. Biv - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
Whenever it rains and the sun is shining. I try to find the rainbow -- sun at my back shining through the rain. I am so happy when I find it, even if it's just a tiny arc in the sky. I just think rainbows are beautiful and spectacular.
There's another reason to love rainbows and we hear it in our Genesis lesson this week. The rainbow is a sign of God's agreement/covenant with us. The beautiful rainbow is a reminder that God loves us. It is a reminder that God is always with us. It is a reminder that God will never destroy us.

Lenten Soup Suppers, February 21 through March 21, services will be held at Incarnation United Church of Christ, 47 N. 4th Street, Newport, from 5:30-7:00pm. Supper begins at 5:30, with an informal service beginning at 6:15pm.
