Show me your ways, O Lord, *
and teach me your paths. Psalm 25:3
This verse of Psalm 25 is a wonderful prayer for us for each day. Following the way of love is definitely challenging at times. Dealing with other people can truly test us. Sometimes we just do not know what to do. What is the loving thing to do? We need God to show us the way. We need God to teach us to see the situation clearly and to follow the path God creates.
Doing this requires that we cultivate and maintain our connection with God. It requires us to be alert and open to God speaking to us and to God leading us.
Lent is the perfect time to examine our relationship with God. How are we deepening our relationship? How do we listen for God's leading? How do we see what God is teaching us?
Let us always pray for God to show us God's ways and teach us God's paths.
Love, Rebecca+
Prayer for Spiritual Communion
The prayer for spiritual communion was inadvertantly left out of the booklets for Lent. Here it is:
My Jesus, I believe that you are truly present in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. I love you above all things, and long for you in my soul. Since I cannot receive you in the Sacrament of your Body and Blood, come spiritually into my heart. Cleanse and strengthen me with your grace, Lord Jesus, and let me never be separated from you. May I live in you, and you in me, in this life and in the life to come. Amen.
