O Lord, you have taught us that without love whatever we do is worth nothing: Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts your greatest gift, which is love, the true bond of peace and of all virtue, without which whoever lives is accounted dead before you. Our Collect for this week makes a bold statement: "O Lord, you have taught us that without love whatever we do is worth nothing."
Don't you want to argue with that statement? I mean, most of us do lots of great things. We give our time to worthy causes. We give our treasure to help others.
Evenso, our prayer for this week, reminds us that our list of what we have done that we consider "good" is for naught if our spiritual presence is without love.
Love is the ingredient needed to make our contributions valuable and priceless.
May you embody love in all of the wonderful things you do this week.

Bishop's Letter
Bishop Scanlan has written a letter regarding an action taken by the General Convention in 2018. Resolution D034 states that for a period of three years (Jan 1, 2019- Dec. 31, 2021) all time-bound restrictions on the consideration of allegations of sexual abuse by clergy against adults are lifted for three years.
