Yes, this Sunday we hear about temptations, both in the Garden of Eden and the temptations of Jesus as he began his ministry. Oh, those temptations can lead to so much trouble, can't they?
So, we have a wonderful prayer this Sunday. We acknowledge that we are bombarded or assaulted by many temptations. Often we think about food, but what about power or greed or selfishness or stinginess? We need God to come quickly to help us.
We also acknowledge that each of us is unique and has different weaknesses. What is a temptation for one person is not necessarily at temptation at all for another. We ask that everyone find God mighty to save, no matter the temptations that beset each one of us.
This week I pray that we find God mighty to save us.

We begin with a light supper of soup, bread and dessert. Suzanne Beamer will offer the meditation on “I am the good shepherd” from John:10:11, 14.
Flowers for Easter, April 9.
Donations for Easter flowers will be taken through March 19. If you have an envelope, you can use for the donation, including marking if they are “in honor of” or “in memory of” someone. There are also envelopes at the back of the church.

Greenwood FFA’s 2023 Meals of Hope Meal Packing Event, Friday, March 3, 5 – 7pm and 7 – 9pm, Greenwood Elementary School
50,000 meals will be packed to distribute to families in Juniata and Perry Counties. If you would like to help pack meals, contact Krista Pontius at 717-589-3116 X 1209 or kpontius@greenwoodsd.org. Collections for Neighbor Helping Neighbor Food Bank
In February we will collect Soup, Raman Noodles, Chef Boyardee, Tooth Paste and Tooth Brushes. The items for March are Cereal, Oatmeal, Rolled Oats, Grits, Cream of Wheat, Deodorant and Razors.
Help fill our community food pantry!
Items that seem to be taken first include canned pasta meals, soups, and macaroni and cheese. Vegetables don't seem to get taken. Also, please don't use this as an opportunity to clear out your pantry if at all possible.
