‘You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. Upon reading our Gospel for this week, I immediately thought of the song in Godspell, You Are the Light of the World. It is sung as the last song before intermission and the words of the chorus are:
So let your light so shine before men
Let your light so shine
So that they might know some kindness again
We all need help to feel fine (let's have some wine!)
When I saw the production in the 1970s, they actually passed some wine around the theater and invited people up on the stage. I don't remember that in the most recent incarnation.
I pray as you go through your week that you remember that you are a shining light and that light brings kindness and don't we all need that to feel fine?

Ash Wednesday and Lent – Lenten Soup Suppers
We will host the Ash Wednesday service at 7pm, February 22. Lenten Soup Suppers will be held at Incarnation United Church of Christ, 47 N. 4th St., 5:30pm on March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. There will be a light meal of soup, bread and dessert, followed by a short meditation or presentation. The theme will be the “I am” statements of Jesus from the Gospel of John.

Vision Board Workshop, Saturday, February 25, 1 – 4pm, Church of the Nativity
Join us in taking your New Year’s Resolution, your dreams, your desires and your hopes for 2023 and put them into a Vision Board. There will be an attendee fee to help cover the cost of the materials and supplies to be used. Feel free to bring any of your own that you would like to use. All of your basic supplies and materials will be provided for use. We will also have snacks and coffee or tea available. RSVP by February 8 to the church office – 717-567-6514.
