How are you proclaiming the Good News of being saved by Jesus? We are not necessarily used to talking loudly and boldly about how Jesus has saved our lives. It is also difficult to sometimes see the ways in which following Jesus has saved us, because we do not necessarily know our lives without following Jesus.
Yet, following Jesus is marvelous, isn't it? Following Jesus provides ways for us to not get up in the drama and fray of the world, while still being engaged in the world. We are in the world, but not of the world. We know that all people have Christ in them and we can be compassionate towards them. We may not be able to be in intimate contact with some people who express themselves in abusive ways or commit terrible acts of evil. Yet, we still pray for them and we know that somewhere in them is a spark of Jesus.
We know that love is the foundation of life. We know that all have been made in the image of God. We know that all of us make mistakes and we know we can be forgiven and turn around into a new life.
We are generous with what we have been given, spiritually, emotionally and materially. We are not as attached to property.
May you continue to proclaim the salvation of Jesus throughout this year.

COVID Alert PA App
The Department of Health has launched the COVID Alert PA, https://www.pa.gov/covid/covid-alert-pa/. This is a free mobile app that uses Bluetooth technology to let a person know that they have been exposed to COVID-19 without compromising the identity or location of either the person using the app, or of the person to whom they may have been exposed. The mobile app helps the contact tracing process by identifying and notifying those people identified as close contacts through Bluetooth technology when a person with COVID-19 does not know or remember everyone with whom they may have come in contact while infectious.

Recycle plastic bags for New Bloomfield.
Bring items to the church or get them to Darlene Amsler.
The Lions Club of New Bloomfield is collecting clean, plastic bags to be recycled. The collection will help them get a bench for the town. You can get the bags to Darlene Amsler or drop them off at the church on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 9 and 3. Plastic bags accepted include grocery bags, newspaper bags, ice bags, Ziploc and other reclosable bags, cereal box liners, case overwrap, bread bags, dry cleaning bags, bubble wrap, and plastic e-commerce mailers.
Send Valentine's cards to residents and staff at Perry Village.
You can sign the cards, your friends at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen. Address the cards to staff or to residents. You can also donate candy for the staff. Get the cards to the church by February 1. There will be a pink, plastic tub on the porch.
