In our lesson from the Hebrew Bible this Sunday, we hear God establish the prophets as the means of communication to the people. God will choose someone from within the community and God will tell that person what to say to the people.
This method of communication is established, because when the people heard God's voice and saw the fire of God, they were so frightened, they nad to turn away. Being in the presence of God made them feel like they would die.
The voice and presence of God is powerful. From my own experience, I'd say one of the ways this power comes is through God's persistance. I've felt God leading me in my life and what I hear is not always something I'm happy about, so I try to deny the guidance. Yet, the guidance keeps coming.
That's a powerful voice and presence that doesn't let go.

Today, Dr. Spero Lappas will join us to talk about his book, “Conquer Life’s Frontiers: A Philosophy of Individual Fulfillment: Create your Own Renaissance At Any Moment – Even Now”.
Dr. Lappas asks: Is this the life you wanted to live? Are you the person you wanted to be? Dr. Lappas was a successful and prominent lawyer until he came face-to-face with the realization that despite the many rewards of his profession he was not living an authentic, fully integrated life. Instead of conquering the life of his aspirations, he had become a passive rider on the runaway train of circumstance and routine. His desired destination ‘personal fulfillment’ was nowhere on the route. Come hear how he changed his life to his desired destination. He will bring books for purchase.
