Renewal of Baptismal Vows

Michele Neibert, Parish Administrator January 05, 2022
This Sunday (January 9, 2022) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

Because you are precious in my sight, and honored, and I love you.... Isaiah 43:4

This Sunday we hear one of my favorite passages of scripture. I call it God's valentine. A few years ago, I handed this verse out on bookmarks for Valentine's Day. In this passage are listed the many things God will do for us. We are reminded that God created us in the first place. We are reminded that God will always be with us,no matter what comes. We are reminded that God will ransom us if we are kidnapped.

This Sunday we renew our baptismal vows and recommit to our baptismal covenant. Our vows and promises come in response to God's love for us. They are not easy to keep and yet, the ways we live our lives represent our best attempt to show forth the love of God.

May you know how wonderful and precious you are to God. May you know how honored you are. May you know how loved you are. Then may you give your wonderful, honored and loved self to the world.

Love, Rebecca+

Donate to Episcopal Relief and Development to Help Tornado Victims
The tornadoes that swept the mid-Mississippi Valley were the most powerful seen in a decade. Fifty twisters left a 200-mile path of destruction that devastated the region and left 100,000 homes without power. Your gift today will help us act quickly to support Episcopal dioceses in areas hit hardest, as we have extensive experience preparing for and responding to disasters. Donations can be made at: https://support.episcopalrelief.org/disasters
