This Sunday (July 24, 2016) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

This Sunday

The Rev. Rebecca Myers July 22, 2016

The Lord will make good his purpose for me....
 Psalm 138:9

What is our purpose? What is the reason we exist?

Our faith provides us some clues and answers. You may have your favorite Bible verses that provide the answer for you.

Often I think of Luke 10:27, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

Or Micah 6:8 "...do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God...."

But that's only a start. Exploring how to love God totally and how to love my neighbor and then actually doing it is an ongoing task in my life. Exploring how to do justice and love kindness and walk humbly with God is an ongoing task.

That's why I'm grateful to be part of a community like Nativity and St. Stephen. Together we hear and study the scriptures. Together we can see how each of us lives out God's purpose for us in our daily lives. I learn from you and hopefully you learn from me. Together we live out and grow into God's purpose for us.

Many blessings as you finish your week!

Love, Rebecca+
