One of the themes of the "It's All About Love" festival was evangelism. We also discussed this at the Diocesan clergy retreat.
Probably most of us shy away from a lot of what we see as evangelism. I don't think any of us have stood on the street corners and proclaimed our faith for all to hear. We also probably do not talk directly about our faith or our church, unless asked or it seems to come up in conversation.
We are most likely those who evangalize by the way we live and interact with others. We evangelize by our deeds.
The Rev. Dr. Patricia Lyons is fascinating to hear speak about the many ways she interacts with people and gets into conversations about faith. One of the things she says is that we need to try to give people what they need to be all of what God created them to be. She says she doesn't know what that is for each person.
This Sunday, our Psalm encourages us to thank God... to call upon God's name...to make God's presence in our life and in the lives of the people known. Think about all of the ways we are doing that now, individually and as a parish. Think about what we might also do.

The items for July are Condiments: Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, Pickles, Dressings and Trash Bags. The August items are: Cake Mixes, Frosting, Paper Towels and Napkins.
Help fill our community food pantry!
Items that seem to be taken first include canned pasta meals, soups, and macaroni and cheese. Vegetables don't seem to get taken.

Join Hands and Bread of Life back to School Supply Drive
Donations are being accepted through Thursday, August 3 and can be dropped off at 51 S. Church Street, New Bloomfield. Items needed are: new packs of socks and underwear (size 5T – men’s and women’s 3XL), new large backpacks and new coats. They have plenty of school supplies, but will still accept donations of typical school supplies.

The first limited edition puzzle is Clay’s Bridge located in Little Buffalo State Park, Newport. Each year they will select a different landmark in Perry County to feature. Welcome Home Kits
As an individual or family obtain an apartment after being homeless, they are typically starting from scratch. CCU helps them get into their new home and gives them a Welcome Home Kit. Welcome Home Kits include items for the kitchen, items for bath and general cleaning as well as first aid and toiletries items. We are currently in need of mops, brooms, kitchen trash cans and anti-biotic creams. These items can be delivered to CCU at 413 S. 19th St., Harrisburg.

CCU is always on the look-out for volunteers who can work with the Administrative team in sending out invitations, thank you letters, or newsletters, planning engaging and fun events, or maintaining CCU’s presence on the web. Using novels & films, alongside scientific & theological writings, we will discuss the different social & natural systems that are accelerating climate change & what kinds of possibilities exist for creating new practices and righteous values that reflect God’s saving purpose for the whole of creation.
