They lived not only in ages past there are hundreds of thousands still
the world is bright with the jouous saints who love to do Jesus' will.
You can meet them in school or in lanes, or at sea
in church, or in trains or in shops or at tea
for the saints of God are just folk like me
and I mean to be one too.

This Sunday we sing hymn 293, I sing a song of the saints of God, especially as we welcome saint Absalom Jones (as portrayed by Anthony Alexander) to our pulpit. I've been thinking about how our own church is filled with saints, because each one of you is one.
Just look at the past couple of weeks. Thanks to Bob and Edna Baker for hosting our annual church picnic with worship service at the Landis Farm. I loved hearing the birds chirping throughout our service. It was a beautiful day.
Thanks to Sue Beamer for coordinating the food for the picnic and the set up and clean up. During June, Sue made lots of macaroni salad for the cookouts at the Commons and Gardens and our church picnic.
This past week, Wendy Day coordinated the breakfasts and lunches for the St. Barnabas program at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Harrisburg. She was also on hand to serve the meals. Susan Rice, Jane Hoover, and Charlene Robbins helped make sandwiches. Charlene Robbins, and John and Kay Cramer also helped serve the food. Darlene Amsler assisted with purchasing the food and Joanne Pinaire picked up snacks and water from Bread of Life Outreach and delivered them to St. Paul's.
You've heard about Milt Shepley who headed a kitchen crew (Sue Beamer, Darlene Amsler, Todd Saner, Hayden, Ben and Kellan Shepley) to welcome the Appalachian Camino hikers with a great dinner and breakfast.
This doesn't even touch the totality of the sainthood in our parish. I know each day you are praying for God's work and supporting others. I know each day you are embodying God's hands and heart to the world.
Let's sing a song to the saints of God and keep aiming to be one too.
Love, Rebecca+

Help The Episcopal Church and The Anglican Church in Mexico care for those people seeking asylum.
The Episcopal and Anglican churches along our southern border are helping shelter families who have been approved by the United States Government to seek asylum. These families and individuals are awaiting their Asylum court dates. Right now, monetary donations are needed, because once families pass the first part of the asylum process, they are being sent to Mexico to await their court date. Monetary donations are the easiest way to help those churches shelter these individuals and families.
Donations can be sent to:
Diocese of the Rio Grande
