I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; *
I will praise my God while I have my being. Psalm 104
This past week I've attended two events for the Class of 2017 at Newport High School. On Tuesday, I attended the Awards Night and presented two scholarships on behalf of the Rotary Club of Perry County. On Wednesday, I attended Baccalaureate. Pastor Trevor Lightner and I gave gifts of olive wood pocket crosses to the graduates.
Do you remember your high school graduation? Do you remember the excitement and also the tension of leaving high school? It is definitely a time of mixed emotions.
At Baccalaureate, graduates were encouraged to always remember that they are beloved by God and that God will always be with them.
One way we sing to God as long as we live is through our daily lives. That's what these graduates were being told. They were told it wouldn't always be perfect...that they'd certainly fail and yet that God would be with them anyway...help them to go on and learn from their mistakes.
Just like the Psalmist, how do you sing to the Lord with your life? How are you praising God while you have being? Please pray for these young people starting out and especially for those graduates known to us - Grace Klauer, Maddie Shepley, and Fayth Stephenson. And continue to let your own life sing praise to God.
Blessings as you finish your week!
Love, Rebecca+
