The statutes of the Lord are just
and rejoice the heart; *
the commandment of the Lord is clear
and gives light to the eyes. Psalm 19:8
This Sunday we hear the ten commandments from Exodus. These are the minimum guidelines for our relationship with God, our relationship with our family, and our relationship with our community. Our Psalmist proclaims that the point of these teachings are just and tultimately delight our souls. Also, these teachings give us vision.
We know that Jesus came because we needed more guidance and teaching. He taught us that the most important thing is to love God and to love our neighbors. Again, these statutes and teachings delight our hearts and give us clear vision.
As we enter into the middle of our Lenten season, how are you doing? Are you discovering deeper meaning to the teachings of God? Are you receiving clearer vision about God's teachings?
March is Women's History Month and this Sunday we have our annual observance. Who are women of faith that taught you the statutes of God and gave you clear vision? Remember them this week.
Blessings as you finish your week!
Love, Rebeccca+
