Godly Play and Mother's Day

This Sunday (May 13, 2018) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

...Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before.... Collect for the Seventh Sunday of Easter, p. 226, Book of Common Prayer

This Sunday is our last Sunday of Easter. Our Collect for the day asks that we not be left comfortless. Ascension Day is Thursday...the day when we remember that Christ ascended into heaven.

Imagine the grief of the Apostles after they witnessed the crucifixion. Then Christ appears to them numerous times. That must have seemed wonderful. Christ was in a different form, but still so very present. On Ascension Day, Jesus left even in that form. Once again, they must have been sad, in grief and confused about what to do.

That's where we are this Sunday...in a place of grief and confusion. I'm sure we have all been there in these lives we live. Often we wonder what God is asking us to do. We wonder whether what we are doing is God's Will or merely our own. We wish we could hear more clearly and get more clarification.  We pray that we may be comforted. We pray for the Holy Sprit, the great comforter to come quickly.

Many blessings as you finish your week.

Love, Rebecca+
