Most of us are very private people. While I believe the church is one place where we should be able to be vulnerable and open about our joys and troubles, this belief goes against the grain for most of us.
Yet, being able to tell others about what God has done for us not only provides strength and example for their lives, but also praise and thanksgiving to God. In telling others our story, we are also reminded of all of the things God has done for us, strengthening our own faith and life.
One of the ways we praise God is through our music. This Sunday, we'll celebrate our organist and our choir and the part they play in our worship and thanksgiving to God each week.
My prayer always in all of the many ways each of you minister is that you feel called by God and have a sense of God's power, love and direction in your life.

Watch both to gain an understanding of what is wrong with our current instrument and SDG Organs' recommendations.
You will see from the video that Mr. Ullmer and Mr. Nace from SDG will provide a proposal in about a week that details options for us up to an amount of $100,000. This would involve installation of a "used" and in good shape organ. Currently such an instrument is available; however, typically a small organ like we'd need is difficult to find.
Some Questions to think about and to respond to:
1. What part does a pipe organ play in our ministry and mission?
2. What kind of investment should we make in our pipe organ?
3. A pipe organ can last 60-70 years; however, is the money spent worth it? Should we find another solution that is less costly and use the money for more mission and ministry?
4. Some are concerned that putting the investment into a pipe organ is risky because we do not know the future of the church in the next 60-70 years.
Vestry will discuss this issue at the June 14 meeting, so please let us know what you think.

Taize’ Tuesdays, 5:00pm. Twenty minutes of Centering Prayer
followed by a Taize’ service.
Men’s and Women’s Breakfast - each Wed., 9am.
Men and women meet at Espresso Yourself Café.
The choir practices Wednesdays at 10:15am.

Volunteers needed for Perry County Work Camp, June 12-16. Skilled and unskilled labor needed to provide home repairs to those who cannot do them. The project is coordinated by Cornerstone Church. See Rebecca or our website for the application.

The Perry County Relay for Life, June 16-17, Newport High School Athletic Field. There are many ways to participate in this event. Prayer Shawl Ministry of Newport meets the last Thursday of the month. Bring your projects and also learn how to knit or crochet.

Help People in Need when you buy your Groceries! See Gail Shull or Pat Szabo to purchase cards in various amounts to use at Giant, Mutzabaugh's, or Weis Stores. 5% of the cost of each card stays with the church and is used for outreach and mission projects.
Baking needs and chocolate items available through Equal Exchange. See the cart in the parish hall. We are now a wholesaler for Equal Exchange, a company that supports small farmers who use sustainable practices for chocolate, cocoa, coffee, tea, nuts, olive oil and other baking items. A price list and basket are available to pay for the items you choose to buy. Also, be sure to write down what you’ve purchased to help us maintain our inventory. A catalogue is also available. Help people in need around the world! A Thankoffering box is available by the coffee pots in the kitchen if you'd like to make donations that way. United Thankoffering is a project of the Episcopal Church Women of The Episcopal Church. Boxes are available to collect your offering, which is brought to church twice a year. A wonderful spiritual practice is to put something in the box each time you are thankful to God. If possible, count the money in your box and write a check to the church in that amount.
