This Sunday

Trinity Sunday

The Rev. Rebecca Myers May 19, 2016

Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us
your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to
acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the
power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep
us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to
see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with
the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever
and ever. Amen.  Collect for the First Sunday After Pentecost: Trinity Sunday, Book of Common Prayer, p. 228

This first Sunday after Pentecost, we celebrate the Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Trinity is not easy to explain. It represents unity in diversity.

So often in human history, people have been afraid of things different from them. Must suffering and human destruction has occurred in trying to wipe out diversity, rather than live in unity with diversity.

Our very faith foundation celebrate diversity and our denomination also celebrates unity in diversity.

As you come to this Sunday, look at all of the diversity around you...in nature and in your neighbors. Get ready to worship the unity in diversity....God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Love, Rebecca+
