Weeping may spend the night,

This is a familiar saying to most of us. For many of us, when we have faced a difficult time, it seems like nighttime is the hardest. During the day, we can keep busy and possibly maintain a routine, but when night comes, things quiet down and we are alone with our sorrow, grief, worry and anxiety.
In our current age, we can find plenty to do to distract us, even at night. Depending on what is afflicting us, we may try not to fall asleep at all.
The consolation of this Sunday's Psalm is not only that the Psalmist of long ago understood what we go through even today, but also that our sorrow, grief, worry and anxiety does have an end. Things can change and where there was weeping, joy will come.

Save the Date for the 2019 Perry County Relay for Life.
The Perry County Relay will be held June 21 and 22 at the Newport High School football field. The opening ceremony is at 6pm, Friday, June 21, but walking (and lots of activity!) begins at noon. This is event is open to the public – you don’t have to be a walker or member of a team. There is lots of food and fun! Come join us as we Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back!
