One generation shall praise your works to another *
and shall declare your power. Psalm 145:4
How was the faith communicated to you? I imagine many of us had the experience of people from an older generation shaping our faith. Sometimes it was our parents or grandparents or another family member. Sometimes it was friends. Sometimes it was other church members.
While I believe God is always with us, I also believe we need others in some form to help us deepen our faith and grow in our faith. One thing that helps us is hearing the lived experiences of others; those generations singing God's praises to us as the Psalmist says. I know I love hearing people talk about what God has done in their lives, even at some of the most challenging times in their lives.
The stories others tell and the praises others sing that declare God's power strengthen my faith. I know many of us feel discomfort when we are asked to share how God has worked in our lives. We don't like that E-word - Evangelism.
May we all become more comfortable praising God's work in our lives!
Many blessings as you finish your week!
Love, Rebecca+
