The Collect for this week is one of my favorites, possibly because it was often said as a prayer at the beginning of my classes in seminary. I especially like the idea of "inwardly digest them." It's almost like those old spy movies where someone actually ate the piece of paper. If only it were that easy; that we could understand the scripture just by swallowing it.
No, we need to continually read the scriptures. Each time, we do, we learn something new. Sometimes maybe that's because of where we are in our own lives or what we are living through. Sometimes the reading may lead us to more questioning and exploration. All of this activity can only serve to strengthen or mature our faith.
May you continue to hear, read, mark, learn and inwardly digest the scriptures.

Volunteers Needed to Help with Money in Your Pocket Free Tax Prep Program
Volunteers are needed to offer free tax preparation to help working families receive the federal and state tax credits they are eligible for. The service is offered through the Money in Your Pocket (MIYP) program, a community partnership led by United Way of the Capital Region that is committed to the economic stability of local families.
