Take delight in the Lord, *
and he shall give you your heart's desire. Psalm 37:4
As I was reading this Psalm, I smiled when I read this verse. What a wonderful thought. I like the word "delight." It means great pleasure, joy or glee. Delight is effusive and more than being happy.
Throughout the Bible, we hear that God delights in us. We are pleasing to God. In this Psalm, we are asked to be as delighted in God as God is delighted in us. Such delight means we will be given our heart's desire.
I think when we delight in God, our heart's desire is probably in line with God's Will for us. How do you take delight in the Lord? Being grateful and thankful each day is one way. What are others?
May you take delight in the Lord and may you receive your heart's desire...
Many blessings as you finish your week!
Love, Rebecca+
