We read the entire Psalm 104 at Taize' on Tuesday. It is a beautiful Psalm. Some verses are familiar to many people, including this verse 25. The Psalm sings of God's creation. The Psalm reminds us of the beauty God gave us in the creation of the earth.
This Sunday in Parlor People we begin to focus on the three areas of importance to The Episcopal Church as affirmed at General Convention during the summer: Care of Creation, Racial Reconciliation, and Evangelism. Kay Cramer leads the discussion Sunday on Care of Creation. You will hear about the various resolutions passed by the General Convention, which form our work, individually, congregationally, Diocesan, nationally and internationally. The Episcopal Public Policy Network will represent The Episcopal Church to our national government. We have the opportunity to communicate with our local governments, letting them all know how our faith in Jesus Christ leads us to our care for God's creation.
Kay will also attend part of our Diocesan Convention this Friday and help with a table on Care of Creation. A brochure detailing all of our parish efforts towards lowering our carbon footprint will be available for others hoping to support efforts in their parish.
We praise God for the wonders of creation and we are thus led to do all we can to preserve this beauty for generations to come.
