Happy are they who dwell in your house! *
they will always be praising you. Psalm 84:3

On Tuesday we hosted a meeting composed of representatives from various churches, government agencies and organizations in Perry County to discuss having an emergency shelter for people who are homeless in the winter. Did you know there are people living in tents in Perry County?

There was lots of information shared and future meetings are planned. One truth about housing is that when people have safe, stable, and affordable housing, many other problems are lessened or resolved. Having a roof over your head and a comfortable place to live is essential.

Our Psalm this week reminds us that we also need and have another place to live and that is in the house of God. Dwelling or living in God's house provides important shelter for our spirit and strength for whatever we face in our lives. We can then serve others.

Keep tuned for ways we might help people have physical shelter for their families and thank God for the wonderful ways we can dwell with God in our church.

Love, Rebecca+
