As for me, I will live with integrity; *
redeem me, O Lord, and have pity on me. Psalm 26:11
What does it mean to live with integrity? The dictionary definitions all involve being honest, truthful and following moral and ethical rules, whether anyone is watching or not.
Living with integrity is what we are expected to do if we live a Godly life. Our morals and ethics are guided by justice, especially espoused in the Hebrew Bible, as well as, the teachings of Jesus Christ, with love at the center.
What does justice look like in this culture where the accumulation of things is so pervasive? We consider this question as we approach our annual season of exploring stewardship. Our guest preacher and Parlor People presenter, JD Stillwater, gave compelling, scientific explanations for how our possessions are not ours. We are just trustees and stewards of them during our brief time on this earth.
What does it mean to live with integrity as we review "our possessions" and consider how to be generous in our giving?
Many blessings as you finish your week.
Love, Rebecca+
