This Sunday (September 1, 2019) at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen

Almighty God, you have so linked our lives one with another that all we do affects, for good or ill, all other lives: So guide us in the work we do, that we may do it not for self alone, but for the common good; and, as we seek a proper return for our own labor, make us mindful of the rightful aspirations of other workers, and arouse our concern for those who are out of work; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Collect for Labor Day

We're coming upon the traditional end of summer. It is fitting we say this prayer for Labor Day. The prayer reminds us of how important our work is, as well as prays for those who are out of work.

Even when we are not excited about the work we do, we can always do it with integrity, working for the common good. We can always be generous and loving to our co-workers.

And, some of us are retired; however, we still have work God calls us to do. Doing it with awareness of how it affects others is important.

Blessed Labor Day to you.

Love, Rebecca+
