The heavens declare the glory of God, *
and the firmament shows his handiwork. Psalm 19:1
Every time I read this Psalm, I think of The Creation by Haydn and especially the piece The Heavens are Telling. I first learned this piece in high school choir. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTYJm5Ae0Xo
I believe where we live helps us know the how creation, especially the natural world, declares the glory of God. Right now, unfortunately, we see this in the storms and hurricanes. I was holding my breath this week as the creek next to the church climbed higher and higher. I've frequently checked the government site that shows the Juniata River water levels for Newport.
As we get into the fall season, we are fortunate to see the beautiful displays of color all around us. This area where we live is so beautiful and driving and seeing the colorful mountains of fall is a joy.
If the heavens and earth so declare God's work, are we doing the same? That's what the Psalmist wants us to consider. If creation can do it, so can we.
Blessings as you finish your week!
Love, Rebecca+
