The Newport Ministerium has announced its Weekly Lenten series for 2016. The theme is Fasting From...and Taking On. Prayer cubes with the theme will be available to help those attending fast from and take on new behaviors.

The series begins on Ash Wednesday, February 10, at 7:00pm at The Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen, 159 S. Second Street, Newport, with a service of imposition of ashes and communion. The Rev. Rebecca Myers, Rector, will present on Fasting from Anger & Hatred.

February 17 through March 16, services will be held at Incarnation United Church of Christ, 47 N. 4th Street, Newport, from 5:30-7:00pm. A soup supper begins at 5:30, with an informal service beginning at 6:15pm.
