Wells for Nicaragua

Beginning this past Lent, the people of the Church of the Nativity &
St. Stephen have been walking a watery path, growing in awareness of
our use of and need for this most basic of earthly elements.  Inspired
by a significant, start-off gift from Tony and Ann Roland and guided
on their way by a unique calendar created by Marion Fluchere,
parishioners saved their pennies (and dollars) daily over the last 10
weeks in a “well” container.

“Jesus turned water into wine”, put in the price of your favorite wine

Our bodies are over 60% water; put in 60% of your weight in cents

Got rain?  Put $1.00/inch in the well

Do you walk a mile to get water?  If not, take a walk and put $1.00 in
the well

As the money grew, we grew in our appreciation of the easy and ready
availability of fresh, safe water.   Over $5,000.00 has been raised
and will be sent to Episcopal Relief and Development to provide
funding for well (and attendant infrastructure) construction in
Nicaragua.  Thanks be to God!
